The Garden of My Mind

There are crows in the garden of my mind.

They come daily with their chatter to disrupt my peace

They tried to steal the thoughts of grace that grow so often there

They bring garbage from other gardens and make a mess of my best intentions

They sow discord throughout my mind and weeds grow to disturb me

I asked a friend what he did to get rid of those crows and he showed me what was standing in the center of his field.

Oh no it’s not a scarecrow as you might assume, but what stands in its place is the cross of Christ.

So, when those crows seek to disrupt the garden of your thoughts lift your gaze to Christ crucified and see them fly away.
